I know that we tend to think of the reel as having one rhythm, and the hornpipe another. They both can be played with either rhythm.
The last bar in each part has 4 resting beats in a hornpipe, and only 2 in a reel…Ĭompare the phrasing with St. This does have a little to do with dance. Enjoy it for what it is, a good tune, or not, if you don’t like it, but….
